    3. One practice per week for one hour.
    4. Games played primarily on Saturdays with a few occasional weeknight games.
    5. Competitive playing time for all players.
    6. Rules adjusted based on the age of the league.

    2020-21 Season Overview
The 2020/21 basketball season will be a split format.  Players will participate in drills led by Rising Stars Basketball coaches the first three weeks of the season (December 5, 12, & 19).  Each age group will be assigned an hour of court time.  The emphasis will be on individual skills.  Registration will be limited to a total of 40 players within each age group.  Teams will hold two individual practices the weeks of December 7 & 14.  After the Christmas/New Year's break, participants will have a five-week season.  There will be no practices during the season.  Games will be on Friday nights for 5th/6th graders and on Saturdays for all other divisions.

    Health & Safety Guidelines
Due to our nation's current health situation, First Redeemer Church will be following CDC, state, and church guidelines for the health and safety of all participants, coaches, referees, and fans.  The following are among the guidelines we will be following:

    ·         Kids will be encouraged to bring their own basketballs to practice, the Player Development Program, and games.

    ·         No parents/guardians/relatives will be allowed to enter the gym during the Player Development Program.

    ·         Tentatively, one parent or guardian may accompany the player to practices and games.  No other family members or friends are allowed in the gym.  This is subject to change based on the governor’s guidelines to be updated on November 9.

    ·         Temperatures will be taken for all players prior to entering the gym for practice, the Player Development Program, and games.  Any player with a temperature above 100 degrees will not be allowed to participate.

    ·         For the Player Development Program, a coach will meet each player outside the gym for a health check.  The coach will take a player’s temperature, sanitize the player’s hands and his/her basketball, and guide the player inside.  At the end of the session, a coach will walk all players outside to meet parents.

    ·         For practices and games, all participants will have his/her temperature taken prior to entering the gym.  Any player with a temperature above 100 degrees will not be allowed to participate.

    ·         Players cannot enter the facility until his/her practice or game time.

    ·         Sanitation of all touch points within the gym will take place immediately after a practice, game, or Player Development Program session.  No one will be allowed to enter the gym until this action is completed.

Masks are required for all non-participants and must be worn the entire time that person is in the facility.

Registration Guidelines

1.  Children will not be allowed to play down a grade level.

2.  Children will play in their current grade unless they are approved by Redeemer Sports to play up a grade level.
3.  We are not able to accommodate special requests for team placement, practice schedules or car pooling.  The goal of Redeemer Sports is to provide an atmosphere focused on player development in a Christian environment.  Teams are created with this goal in mind.  We understand the desire to request specific teams or practice schedules, but it is simply not possible as we strive to reach our goal. During registration parents may indicate one night of the week that they are unable to practice.
